History

Sammy Styles began cutting hair at the age of fourteen by going to barbershops throughout New York City including Manhattan, Yonkers and Bronx. A self-taught craftsman, Sammy Styles watched the best of the best perform every urban haircut imaginable. A great haircut can set the tone for positive things. The great feeling that a person gets after a fresh haircut is what Sammy Styles strives for with each client. Moreover, Sammy Styles strives to be the best master barber in the Upstate New York area.

Experience

In 1992, at age 14, Sammy learned how to cut hair by observation and got his practical application by cutting his step-father's hair. After six years of cutting hair out of his home, his incredible drive to catch the attention of others with his sharp and precise edge ups and well-blended fades set the momentum for  a career in barbering.

Sammy was contacted by his brother, who lived in Albany at the time, and was asked to work with the BEST BARBER in the capital region. Shortly after that proposal, Sammy solidified his barbering prowess while cutting hair next to the legendary, "RAZOR RON".

When Sammy was asked how he was able to establish himself as top barber in the area, he responded, "I made sure everyone that came in to the barbershop left feeling like a million bucks. In addition to always striving to do the best job possible, my clients appreciate my personality, which is a big reason that I have loyal clients that trust me with their most important events. I thank God for the privilege of making my dream come true". 

After 7 years of working together, the time came when Razor Ron moved to a different city. Sammy styles continues to operate the Sammy Styles barbershop at 785 Madison Avenue in Albany, NY.

Goal

Sammy has found that 99% of the beauticians today lack basic barbering skills. There is a need for sharing his haircut experience to those who seek to expand by offering services to male clients. Sammy now offers one-day seminars to beauticians that consist of the two most popular haircuts, taper fade also known as Blow Out and a skin fade.
